]]> <![CDATA[Fashion Police: This Post is a Threat to Security]]> Amazingly a high percentage of the folks applying for the screener jobs back in 2002 were former law enforcement officers and ex-military. I worked in one of the processing centers in NYC where a lot of retiring NYPD were applying. Now most of them were retiring because the retirement system rewarded them for the high wages they earned in 2001/2002 on terrorist duties. I'm sure most of those have moved to higher level positions in TSA now or somewhere else in government.

Very few of those who worked for the previous regime passed the screening tests. I don't know about the waivers for high school graduation. It's better than it was .... still inadequate, but a step forward.

These aren't smart people, if they were, they would be real police. As of now, they are just extremely low level screeners. The low of the low.
