DHL Pays Urban Denizens With Coupons To Deliver Packages
By Ben Popken on December 3, 2010 10:00 AM
DHL is trying out a new program called bring.Buddy where regular people can pick up and deliver packages along their daily route that they'd be traveling anyway. In return, the recruits earn free train tickets, coupons and carbon offset credits. And, of course, badges. The goal is to reduce costs and carbon emissions within dense urban environments. More »

This Think Geek Sticker Clearly Wouldn't Fit In The Other Box
By Chris Walters on April 17, 2009 7:36 PM

—>We may have to invent a new tag just to accurately describe how absurd Think Geek's shipment to Micah in Ontario was. It was bad enough that the shipping was over $30, but that's a consequence of stupid shipping options from the US to Canada. What really elevates this story to the top of the stupid shipping mountain is how they packed a sticker. But hey, at least the sticker didn't get broken in transit. Update: Think Geek responds in the comments below (which is awesome because we felt kind of bad talking about a site we like so much).  More »

DHL Cuts 9,500 Jobs, No More Shipping Inside US
By Ben Popken on November 10, 2008 4:59 PM

—>No more DHL for you, America. They're cutting 9,500 jobs and suspending domestic mailing operations. This leaves the shipping field back to UPS, FedEX and the USPS. However, you can still ship with DHL internationally from the US, so no need to fret that you can't keep sending those care packages to Cuba and North Korea.  More »

DHL: Our Drivers Went Home For The Night, But We'll Deliver Your Package Anyway
By Carey Alexander on September 9, 2007 8:36 PM

—>Kyle expected DHL to deliver his package by 3pm. When DHL failed to show, Kyle called to ask for an explanation. Without any argument, DHL refunded Kyle's full shipping costs and promised to track down his package.

Well on rolls 4:30 and I don't have a call yet, at this point I am a tad frustrated. I call them back and tell them what is going on. The customer service representative is very understanding and calls the local office. Normally a company would put you on hold and get back to you with an answer. I was very surprised when he 3-way called the local office and told them what was going on. I was told that the truck had broken down. They said they were trying to get the packages loaded on another truck to continue delivery. Well it was getting late in the day so I prepared to have to wait until monday for my package.   More »
