"What's one of things most people do when they accidentally bump into somebody-they say excuse me .What's one of the things that people do when they want to get by someone-they say excuse me .
They say excuse me because they know they just violated someone's personal space or will have to invade their space to get by .
But to not think twice about stepping on someone or pushing someone aside..."
"I think there's going to be some liability issues here along with the fatality since several others were injured and taken to a hospital .
I heard a shrink on CNN Headline News last night and she started to blame the economic conditions and the anchor stopped her and pointed out this stampede wasn't over food .
Walmart will blame the tramplers and tramplers will blame Walmart .I do not say this jokingly but if at least one of these tramplers is caught and identified what's to stop the excuse-I was running for the restroom and claim a medical emergency of their own .Still BS .And they'll claim like the one manager said -people in those lines wind up being cold, tired and hungry among other things .Again not an excuse but it will be used .
Walmart should have a ticket system and/or demanded a more structered and orderly LINE before opening. The customers knowing basically they basically were on an all night camping trip( be it outside a Walmart instead of the woods) should have planned for one physically and mentally .
Too me the ends do NOT justify the means and that's basically what's going here ."
"I hope this store's security camera system is a good one. That way they can track the stampeaders from their entrance to the time they checkout at the register-hopefully with a check, debit or credit card .I hope they get prosecutions out of this and make a very public example out of them ."
"@downwithmonstercable: I agree 200% .And these people aren't buying for gifts they're buying for themselves .They hunting for a bargain and just like in the wild if you mess with a predator's hunt and/or prey they will attack .
Astounding and to top it off on this BLACK Friday there was a shoot out in a Toys R Us in Calif as well-AFTER a fight between 2 women-in a toy store ."
"I like the idea of having a buyout or exit package on the table AHEAD of time year round .I've left companies and found out almost 3 months after the fact I was entitled to a buyout .If I had known this upfront my plans would have changed completely .And that's the point: a buyout with an exact dollar figure makes it much easier to plan .
As many good people that might leave alot of the not so good might take it as well .You might insult people with a poor buyout but a voluntary buyout doesn't cause the consternation of layoffs and/or fake firings ."
"One of the reasons for internet sales was I thought it was incentive for you the customer to buy online and save you and the store money since no one has to help you or check you out.I notice that Home Depot really pushes the self checkout line,I've been grapped and pushed through with a Home Depot person basically playing cashier.
Not only that;I've noticed over the last several years Home Depot is no where near as cheap as they used to be.In the past their price would be low enough for you not to shop now if look for a sale you will beat Home Depot's price."
"You thank or partially athank your friend buddy pal Jim Cramer for this who ranted on his show for his listeners to write the FCC saying this was a good idea and how those evil free terestial radio stations were the only ones against it.
And one of the reasons you were supposed to like this merger is it would give you choice-ie you could now listen to XM or Sirius Radio stations-uh huh."
"@frodo_35: 'inject money to continue the illusion' DEAD ON!
Easy money or credit compensates for over pricing or low income buyers. It all goes back to the mortgage should be no more than 3 times your yearly salary. The government allowed THIS whole mess rather than admit stuff like we have to raise the minimum wage, stop exporting jobs, fight illegal immigration, increase training etc.
What the heck are these same home buyers going to do if their is a tax increase,an insurance increase, unexpected repairs or just an unexpected expense period.Prices would actually drop for buyers if houses were forced to sell at an AFFORDABLE cash or low income value-little or no credit. It's one thing to slap a 400$ TV on a credit card but another to buy a 400k house on credit/mortgage."
"See,it's not pc to have words like 'foreclosure, foreclosed on or kicked out of their(the banks home) and you dare not say 'it's their fault, they signed it' as part of the daily news or conversation.
But it is their fault they did sign. And I am sick and tired of hearing 'oh my home value will go down if they're foreclosed on and the house is vacant'-YOUR house went to an artificially high value BECAUSE of the people who signed for something they had NO business getting into.
This is akin to crying my 0% teaser rate went up on my credit card. The unmitigated gaul of these fracks to try and weasal out of their bad decision wether it be the borrower or banks/mortgage holder.
Let's get this over with NOW,this nothing but postphoning the envitable. This is nothing but political pandering. The mere fact they even mention a plan only shortly before an election is like throwing gas on THE fire."
"@jstonemo: I can't agree more on catastrophic insurance.
And free markets ARE hindered when you have insurance or somebody else pay for it.Too many practices have become dependent on the INSURANCE payment like a junkie on crack.I've made credit/pay agreements and the office billed my insurance behind my back without my knowledge AFTER the office manager approved a plan for me.The doctor also got mad at me one day when I payed cash for a visit after I explained I didn't want my insurance billed. One of the CLERKS also didn't trust me.I've always been near AAA credit. And that's another problem:you have alot of clerk type jobs or clerks that have power and responsibilties they have no business being near.Yes a good clerk might 'squeeze' you in for an appointment or bill you for an emergency visit even though you are filling a cancellation.
All based on the false premise somebody else is paying for it with insurance."
