I worked at a Silicon Valley pseudo-startup (already-experienced team, ~100 employees worldwide) where you couldn't have asked for a harder-working CEO."

I know this is a naïve, idealistic viewpoint, but if a business cannot simultaneously be safe, keep customers happy, and turn a profit, they shouldn't be in business."
