You can get any item on the menu at Jack in the Box any time of the day. So if I go in at 6:30am and ask for an Ultimate Cheeseburger and curly fries w/ a chocolate shake: they'll make it for me.

I don't know, you can easily spin the story and explain that he was only trying to protect his employees (this woman did punch the drive-thru worker in the mouth...). The customer was obviously strong, too, since she could punch through the drive-thru window while still in her car.
Honestly, it sounds like this woman was the Hulk in disguise.

A new job? If that's the case, a friendly call to the cops, a trace to the guy's license and a not-so-friendly visit to the driver should make things interesting between job hunting duties.

The headline doesn't do this story justice. The most ridiculous aspect has nothing to do with punching out the window - that's just the sprinkles on an otherwise batshit crazy ice cream sundae. The most ridiculous aspect was that as soon as the driver punched the night manager in the mouth, the night manager retaliated by grabbing the driver's hair, and it escalated to a full-scale Jerry Springer chick fight....at which point, I have to point out that someone anticipating the first swing should have said, \"This shit just got real.\"

Ok... a little FYI. This McDonalds is in one of the worst areas of Toledo. They are a frequent target of crime and have a high employee turnover rate due to such, and for once, in bizarre violence-related things, I'm all for the bat$%&@-crazy night manager who finally gave it back to those who make that neighborhood so terrible to live/work/drive/walk/do anything in. This is coming from a now-former pizza delivery driver in the same area of town.
The driver looks like a meth addict (see the article on the link)... One more reason to stay away from McDonalds...

What's the goddamn' deal with people flipping out in fast-food joints these days these days, anyway? I suspect cocaine; haven't most of these incidents occurred very late at night/wee hours a.m.?
That's like all these reports I'm seeing of people calling 911 because McDonald's doesn't have chicken nuggets, or because they ran out of mustard -- or because their kids wouldn't eat their dinner, or some other stupid shit. Is there really a serious outbreak of this kind of zaniness, or is it just because I like to read Drudge Report for cheap laffs, and these seem to be the kind of stories he goes for?
Y'know, I'd love to see some dance-mix DJ cut together a dance-mix mashup from the recordings of all those weird-assed 911 calls from people who are flipping out over crap like McDonald's not having chicken nuggets. I'd pay real money for a CD of that.

The customer in that case called the police because they were out of McNuggets _and wouldn't give the money back_. That's theft. The same way the restaurant would call the police if you got your food and didn't pay, offering only a substitute for money instead.

I am thinking the same. I mean, being patient is so easy and what happened to the idea of waiting five minutes anyhow? I learned this lesson while in France with my ex. If you want to experience a slow-er world, go to that country. I remember sitting in a bank with her waiting in a office while this banking associate was talking to a customer; no lie and they talked at least 30 minutes about nothing. I don't know about the rest of Europe, but in France it is customary and expected of you to discuss your personal life before you discuss business. And it is not like they open up their world to you like on Jerry Springer, it's more of a basic level of discussion such as \"how is your day, blah, blah, blah\". If you throw a hissy-fit in France they'll all look at you like your some moron. Living over there really helped me slow down and see another way of dealing with things more relaxed.
Well, luckily, here in DC, we have in the close-in suburbs a little joint called the Amphora Diner, where you can get a damn' fine cheeseburger platter at 4am. I know this because one night -- or should I say, one very early morning -- after dropping a couple of pals off on the way home from a concert (the concerts ended around midnight, but somehow we never made it home 'til about 4am-ish), my other pal and I, who lived near each other in the burbs at the time, found ourselves saved yet again by the good old Amphora Diner in Vienna, VA. Open 24/7, and they'll serve you a cheeseburger and a beer for breakfast, if you're the type who's been up all night and haven't had dinner yet, although their actual \"traditional\" breakfast items are damned good, too.
Still, somehow there's nothing quite like a cheeseburger platter at 4, 4:30am... kinda' got that Edward Hopper thing going for it.

This sounds like a more extreme version of the Jack in the Box commercial where he's driving around different fast food joints asking if he can get breakfast during lunch hours.

I would have figured the reasoning to be the exact opposite of what it is. Not that McDonalds is a bastion of fine dining or anything but if I was going to punch out a window it would be for not being able to get breakfast instead of their Mystery McNuggets.

They start serving breakfast at 2:30 really? I have been a couple times through late night McDonald's after 2:30 and all you can get was the night menu, the last thing I expect to be able to order is a Egg McMuffin.
Perhaps it depends on the McDonalds? Regardless, this person showed up at the drive-thru at 6:20AM, at which point I really doubt it matters if they've stopped serving dinner items at 2:30AM or 5:30AM.

Honestly this is what McD's gets for selling dinner food that earlier.. Bars close at 3am, serve dinner until at least 330am then switch over.. Our Burger King in KC is 24hours but switches over to breakfast at 130am, it is retarded..
This sounds like something my wife might honestly do. Her craving for McNuggets and her rage both wax and wane through the month in lock-step, and god help the person who withholds nuggets on the wrong day.

I had no idea that people could get so passionate about McNuggets. I always thought they were nasty cause they have grissle in them, but have they really changed to where they're worth punching someone in the mouth or calling 911 over? Maybe I am missing out on something huge.

Its been about two weeks since I had one, but my local Burger King at that time was using larger patties than the ones shown in the photo and two slices of cheese. The meat patties were noticeably larger that the regular McDonald's double cheeseburger.
My guess is the local franchise owner is using smaller patties to cut back on costs.
