one time back in the day, like 6th grade, i was asked by a teacher to bring in some movies to watch because a substitute would be there the next day. I didn't know much about ratings back then, or even what the movies were rated since it didn't really matter to me, but I brought a bunch in that I thought would be fun to watch. I think I brought like Roger Rabbit, Goonies, some other one, and then Ferris Bueller's Day Off. I didn't realize at the time that it was PG-13. of course, everyone voted to watch Ferris. once the first cussword slipped out, I got very very embarrassed and tried to turn the movie off, but the kids wouldn't have it. i went aside to the sub and was like ummm, don't kill me, i'm really sorry.. and she's like oh, don't worry, i love this movie, and it's keeping everyone quiet so let's just go with it.

@Mike8813: The level of swearing in some of my favorite movies as a kid really amuses me sometimes. The Goonies is definitely in that category - Chunk yells "Aw, SHIT!" less than five minutes in while watching the police chase the Fratellis.

On the hat, there's probably a buckle or snap or something on the sizer on the back that could potentially be removed and then could be potentially eaten by a kid whose parents could potentially be too busy doing something else to notice in time to call the potential paramedics.

Any item that doesn't have all small parts permanently sealed away from little mouths can't be marketed as safe for kids, and it's easier for companies to stick the 3-year-old warning on everything rather than be sued later.
