Moore tweeted what she claims is the original, unretouched image, but looks suspiciously like the final cover shot. Citrano countered

Citrano also e-mailed Consumerist, with an extreme close-up of the relevant section of the image. He wrote:
To help support your point of view, and rebut these crazies who say it's just "the way she's standing" - I wanted to send you a zoom I did of the image. Her hip is clearly - and magically - "fused" to the sash. This doesn't happen organically; it happens digitally.
So now the challenge has been issued to... W's art department? We'll let you know if, and when, the errant hip is located.

Not to say that it hasn't been photoshopped to make her look skinnier. It's entirely possible that someone trimmed a bit from her sides, but if they did, they trimmed about the same amount from her hips as her thighs.

They might get into trouble for really stretching the truth out of proportion, but what you get in the restaurant rarely looks exactly like the items on the menu (if you are in the sort of place with pictures) or TV.
Packaged food I have found to have a disclaimer of sorts on the front of the package like "Serving suggestion" with the contents looking more or less like what's in the box.

]]>Demi is likely wearing some sort of corset to bring her waist in. She is also shifting all of her weight to one side, which is a common modeling pose.
This photo likely was photoshopped, since it was on a magazine cover, and her hip may have even been altered, but if so it's not nearly as egregious as people have been making it out to be.

Sometimes people are caught in weird poses and look awkward on camera. It's not a good picture, but I don't know if I can agree that the shape of her hip has been altered.

People's bodies aren't all perfect and symmetrical.

]]>I disagree that it is photoshopped, looking at the claimed original, it appears that her left leg is positioned slightly forward of her right. In other words, she is not standing perfectly square and upright. So her hips are shifted and her leg is bent slightly, just where her thumb joint meets her leg.
