There's a quirk on the Best Buy website. I was browsing their DVD section and under nearly all of them, it has a link to financing offers. For instance, for House: [www.bestbuy.com] Obviously, financing $49.99 is ridiculous. But it amuses me that Best Buy puts that link on nearly everything.

This happened to me at Toys R Us last week! I was buying a Fisher Price Little People set and the cashier asked if I wanted to purchase a $2.99 replacement policy.

After I laughed (and said, \"No thank you,\" she apologized and said they HAVE to ask for every purchase.

Many potty seats include electronics and movable parts and are $30-40, which is why they offer the warranty. It covers \"potty seats,\" not \"potty seats with the exclusion of the Baby Bjorn seat.\"

Yes, it's a little silly, but the register doesn't know the difference and the cashier must ask.

I work for a major retailer who sells games that just reintroduced warranties on small items. 1 year and its $1-3 depending on the cost, I never offer it because it such a waste and neither do my coworkers. Maybe I will when management starts breathing down our necks but really?

I went to Office Max (or Office Depot - they're both the same to me) to get a wireless USB adapter, and the cashier ringing up the product asked if I wanted to get a warranty for 'my USB drive'. 1) that wasn't a usb drive, it was a wireless usb adapter; 2) if she'd know what I was doing to that adapter, she wouldn't ask for the warranty (it was for a hackintosh netbook, and I was too lazy to wait to get an internal wireless adapter from ebay then take it apart and install it)
