TD BANK is completely irresponsible and hypocritical. Last time my check was direct deposited it took them until 9:00AM the next day to have my funds available. The funny part is that I could not protest to them about it. They basically hide behind their IT department saying "it's not our fault, our systems are having issues". However, if you as the customer, make an overdraft for as little as .01 cent they SLAM you with a 35$ overdraft fee EACH time. So if you overdraft twice in the same day you get hit with 70$ and so on. Now, why can't I charge them for failing to have MY money available to me the minute after my employer electronically wired the funds to them????? Should work both ways.

@Colonel Jack O'Neill: Of course it should have. But that would have cost time and money. Better to have IT people (expensive) only spend their time fixing what is actually broken as reported when customers encounter a problem (cheap). If no customers report problems, there must not have been and thus the company had money saved.

@Unsolicited Advice: I'm just smiling right now. I used to be a Commerce customer but my area got the Metro banks instead of TD. The changeover to Metro was a 2 or 3 day fiasco, but the worst of the problems was acct. holders Visa check cards and acct. debit cards not working for a few hours or so in those 2 days. Everyone said I should switch banks and they wouldn't put up with that type of service and that it was a shame that it was Metro instead of TD. Joke's on the other side now, I guess. So glad I stayed with Metro because I now have 7 day branch access and no problems with any of my accts.

Truly a disgraceful situation. TDBank has proven to be quite inept at handling this merger. My direct deposit, anticipated on Wednesday morning, did not post until Thursday afternoon. Fearing this could drag on forever, I went to the bank with my direct deposit paystub and they gave me $1500 cash. The staff at my local branch in Manhattan was somewhat apologetic, asking me to remain calm. There were at least 5 other disgruntled, frustrated bankers wanting an explanation. To take your customer service phones offline was a horrible move on their part. Once the dust clears, I am closing my account after 7 years of banking with Commerce and these idiots. Screw them. I am going back to Chase.

Commerce was such a nice bank but this has really jaded me for TD Bank.

The worst thing now is that the transactions are listed as the generic debits or credits with no company identifiers.

I just don't understand why they would switch over to a new system without keeping the existing system running until the new system is proven -- this is called running in parallel. Someone needs to have their feet held to the fire for this. I am still waiting to see my transactions posted. I just heard from someone else that they were able to get the bank to put the money in their account based on good faith; in addition, to receiving courtesy money for the inconvenience. My bank has refused to help in any way what so ever. I plan to withdraw all of my money as soon as I can and move to another bank. Not only have they screwed this to you know where and back but they also plan to start charging new fees. Greedy and dumb -- that is how I see the people in charge of TD Bank.

Ever since Saturday I've had boatloads of trouble with my TD Account. Now I'm a student and I'm usually pretty broke so its very important for me to know exactly how much I have available to me. Weekend started it said I had 40$, weekend ended it said I had 80$. I called TD and they PROMISED me everything was fine ok and I had no worries. Tuesday rolls around I end up neck deep in overdraft fees because apparently everything that somehow got repealed over the weekend is back and has all been double charged to my account. At this point I was fairly furious. I'm already shopping around somewhere else to take my business, however it doesn't seem like there are many other student friendly banks. In the end they refunded all the fees and I believe I'm all square with them but this week of financial hell is something I never want to relive.

I was supposed to see a direct deposit posted from my employer today - it didn't show up. I started a USAA account recently and today's TD shenanigans are all I need to drop TD Bank (The Kelly and Regis ad campaign almost drove me away initially. Is is wise to say, "we are a bank for old people"?). TD doesn't even have any mobile banking. With USAA I don't even visit ATM machines for deposits - I just snap a photo with my iPhone via the USAA app and it's in my USAA account instantly.

This has been a problem all day for this former Commerce/current TD Bank customer. Woke up this morning to check on my direct deposit and found no record of it. Tried to call TD Bank repeatedly and kept getting a "We're sorry, your call cannot go through" response that made me think they disconnected their 800/888 numbers.

Mid-morning, when I tried to log in to my account, they had a site up giving another number to call for immediate assistance - that just earned me a busy signal.

After waiting on hold for half an hour, I finally got through to someone who determined that my direct deposit was there, transferred some money into my other account for me - and, in an unprecedented and unforeseen move, credited my account with $25 for my long wait and the anxiety the website problems had caused.

I don't know if they credited everyone's account, but I hope they do, and that others here who were affected see this benefit as well. Overall, I think they should never have had this problem - and agree with a previous commenter who said the first of the month was the worst time for this to happen - but they seem to have come up with a decent solution if you were affected.

I have not been able to access my account online since Saturday. There is no indication from TDBank that they are having issues. I would think that they would communicate to their customers that they are having issues with this system merge.
The hold time when I called their 800 number was extremely long. I hung up, numerous times, after over ten minutes of not getting to a human.
Couldn't they have put a message on their website or on their 800 number indicating that they are aware of the problem?

I do hope customers realize that there lack of technology planning and strategy most probably reflects utter internal operational chaos ---

My direct deposit from Tuesday showed up today at around 1:30 EST. You couldn't get through to them on the phone to get any questions answered - and the website had jack all on it to give you information. I finally called my local branch who assured me they would handle any overdraft fees from this situation should I be hit with any.

Seriously - I trust these dummies with my money? This is their job...how was this so difficult? At least they could have more information on the login page AND made sure people could get through via phone.

The problem seems to be with EFT's. I'm a customer - a payroll and a mortgage are both due today, and neither seems to have posted.

Worse, the previous Commerce system posted account transactions to a "pending transactions" file while they were being processed with full vendor details. For example, $20 spent at Exxon would show up as EXXON with the vendor detail and the charge. Now it just shows DEBIT CARD AUTHORIZATION until it's fully posted to the account history.

TD Bank or its vendor's tech staff had an inadequate UAT process, or testers that signed off on a system with data management issues, or irresponsible management that didn't care. Either way, I'm jumping banks.
