They should begin transitioning to being purely a cellular data network. The phone component can be at the application level, where the consumer gets the choice of carrier (Google, Skype, whoever else is in the game). I have pretty much decided to keep away from AT&amp;T branded stuff due to my 49 days worth of nonsense with their cable TV system. I wish I had checked them out on consumer sites before I changed from Comcast to U-verse, I probably would not have changed if I had seen some of the complaints posted. I am so POed with them that I started my own blog to get them some negative publicity. Google. The Skype quality is as good or better than a regular call.</p><p>I make my daytime outgoing calls on Skype and preserve my minutes for incoming calls.
