I admit I spend about 3-4 minutes cleaning the brushes off before each use, but on hardwood floors and carpet, the 4150 picks up A LOT of hair.  I'd say close to the amount my Bissell does, but this runs every day. It will work on a normal 400/4000 series brush if you pop off the little black rings.
