Last year Wal-Mart sold ground burger in a bag,,hanging upon one of those metal clip-on's near the can aisle. Upon opening the bag, the burger smelled like dog food and tasted even worse.

I'll be willing to bet that the picture is not representative of the actual burger.

Yup - their review looks pretty much exactly like what I would have expected...heinous.
This is genius.
The only question I have is how come from the picture it seems that the burger is bigger then the can?
@RPHP: That's not the real burger. It's one of the grossest foods I've seen.
The SA forum was better, but I think it's behind a paywall now. At $6 a pop, it's kind of a ripoff even if it was as good as a 99 cent fast food burger. You really might as well just make a regular sandwich or even just buy something like Lunchables if you're too lazy to prepare a lunch.

If it's for camping, it might make sense. We boil a lot of water when we are out, so preparing one of these, despite calling for a double-boiler, is not out of the question.
We usually pack small pre-cooked sausages that I find at Cost Plus World Market to add meat/flavor to the Japanese wheat noodles we pack (which are more forgiving on time than regular pasta, so long as you don't overdo them). Meat becomes a super craving when you are putting in 15 miles a day with 40lbs on your back, and peanuts can only get you so far.
Now. Would I pack one of these things? Maaaaaaaaaaaybe. But doubtful: having to re-pack something as rigid/weighty as a tin can would probably dissuade me.
There is no way a canned burger can taste any better than the frozen burgers at a gas station. The frozen burgers at the gas station are terribly disgusting.

@firemunkie: You have to thaw them first, then put them in the microwave, one two-burger package at a time, for about 40 seconds. The result is very nearly as good as the original.

@calquist: They have Batter Blaster, a spray can of pancake batter (think whipped cream can of steel). It's actually pretty decent for the lazy-man, except for the fact when following directions as written, the batter is far colder than it should be when it hits the pan.

Actually, these are quite good from what I hear. They are the equivalent of burger from McDonalds or Burger King. I wouldn't mind trying one out myself to see how it is.
@Fatty Shcock: You should save yourself some time and just eat it while sitting on the toilet. You're going to end up there within minutes of swallowing anyway.

...at the very least, a burger from McD or BK is someplace between \"acceptable\" and \"quite good.\" Otherwise you wouldn't even buy it.
On the other hand...this canned \"burger\" seems to have no idea where \"acceptable\" even is.
...you might want to go check out the review posted above before you go shopping for one...
The only good thing about this \"burger\" is that I am quite sure that you'll no longer be hungry...after looking at it. Dog help you if you actually eat it.
@YouDidWhatNow?: Quite a few people actually tried it out, and even Gizmodo reviewed one saying that it's on par to a fast food burger. All fast food burgers look like shit, so the look of the burger coming out of a can would fit perfectly.

No biggie...most of the food available to us is mostly artificial anyway; you know, produced in the lab. One of the benefits is long shelf life. Nutrition is a thing of the past so just focus on the calories. Looks like a winner.
