Christmas creep in craft stores isn't normally worth a second glance. After all, if you want to finish your cross-stitched stockings and penguin-festooned potholders in time for December, you need to get started early.

But this tree is different somehow.

It's seasonally appropriate, but also not.

We're confused.

This doesn't look like a Halloween tree, it looks like a fall/Thanksgiving tree. These are pumpkins, not jack-o-lanterns. The tip off is that Halloween stuff is usually cute and scary, while fall/TG stuff is usually more serious.

I like the tree. It's fun. My daughter has a little tree in her room that we decorate for all of the big holidays. She loves it. The funny thing is that we have had no trouble finding ornaments for other holidays.

This is actually kind of awesome in that I love Halloween and I'm partially very lazy and hate taking down Halloween and fall decorations to put up a Christmas tree. I love the Christmas tree, it's the putting it together part I hate. So if there was a socially acceptable reason to have a Christmas-like tree in the apartment without the usual Christmas decorations, I think I'd do it.

No, no, no...stop ruining Halloween with Christmas crap. Halloween is about mystery, frights, chills and thrills, not warm and fuzzy, the spirit of giving and egg nog. They do NOT go together, whatsoever.
