It's Consumerist Videodrome #1! Wherein I make several important announcements about new changes coming to the site and show off my new cat.

Announcements:

1. Add your email to your commenter profile. (see this post, "If You Do Not Add A Working Email To Your Profile By Sunday You Will Lose Your Account." We are getting a new site probably Oct 27 and this is part of it.
2. First Consumerist Meetup, Wed Nov 4th, NYC. The "Internets Celebrities" (not us, these other guys who make cool videos like this one about check cashing places and this one about bodegas) will be showing their videos and talking about the joys of quarter water.
3. Observe giant plaque.
4. New cat! His name is Tigre.
5. Cash4Gold hit with class action lawsuit, dramatic reading ensues.

Or when she was asleep. I crashed on the couch once and woke up with the cat pondering me. When she realized I was awake, I thought she'd slit my throat.

I personally thought Ben was absolutely adorable and awesome in the video. I mean, in all fairness, I may be a bit biased as he reminds me a lot of one of my friends, but.. still. He seems like a cool guy to me. :)

@Kimaroo - No Stars Upon Thars: Yeah, she's not really anything like any other Bengal that I've met before. We think something may have happened to her as a kitten (his parents owned Tank's parents, and admittedly the line had quite a few health problems and a rough start).
I guess it's my turn to show off cats now...this is as much love as I get from her. I tried to take a picture to send to my fiance when he was away on business, and this is the most she'd tolerate.

@Radi0logy: I too am not a big fan of cats (pardon my name) in person. They are pretty cute and adorable and I want to be able to love them, but they scare the living daylights out of me when in front of me. A fear I just can't shake. My neighbor's cat loves my yard and will often greet me at my gate when I get home, look me in the eye, let out a big noise, and slip away into the back of my house. And when I lived in europe during college a cat on our block used to follow my roommates and I until we made it to our gate and then he'd return to the same spot down the road. We called his the safety cat who'd always make sure you made it home safely.
