It looks disgusting and on top of all of that I am a tortilla snob. I am sure a McDonalds tortilla would be tasteless and very processed like cardboard.
Back in March I saw a bus stop sign in Vancouver advertising these things. The larger than life-size depiction only helped to make it look even more unappetizing.

@dohtem: As long as there are enough places around here that serve authentic Mexican food (or even semi-authentic; it isn't just the painfully slow progress extending I-69 that accounts for the lack of decent Mexican food around here until the last, say, 5-6 years or so), I couldn't care less what the other places do. Other than for the sake of humor, that is.
Then again, I have friends in their late 30s and early 40s who still enjoy Taco Bell. To each their own, I suppose. Just don't bring back anything for me.
Yes you're late to the party. Yes it is amazing. Saw this in nyc, really enjoyed it actually. Less cumbersome than a 'big' mac.

This place is still around? Haven't been in one since 1994 so I really don't care what they serve. But the people that do eat there should just do humanity a favor and inject a full can of Crisco into their neck. It's the same thing.

@SaraFimm: I remember when the McDonald breakfast burrito came out (or when I was first made aware of it). It was served with \"Salsa del Sol\", which was the most anemic salsa/hot sauce I had ever tried. It was basically crushed tomatoes with a splash of acid and reconstituted onions in it. It was hideous. Then, about a week later, I found the same salsa packets in my school cafeteria. My school's cafeteria actually had really good food (private school), so I was pretty upset over this. Well, as upset as a highschooler can be about anything, meaning I was mad for about a day before something else pissed me off more.
@ludwigk: I loved McD's breakfast burritos when they originally came out (I was also working at McD's at the time. Making my way through college). I didn't mind the salsa packets. It actually tasted better when mixed with mayonnaise mixed in. They also came out with the chicken fajitas around the sametime, which weren't too bad. Much drier than they should have been, though.
Few years ago I checked out the ingredients of the salsa and noticed it contains HFCS. Haven't had it since. I make my own home made breakfast burritos now (and fajitas).
Don't think I'll ever try this big mac..thing. Always hated big macs. This doesn't make it look any more appetizing.

Is there anything on McDonald's menu that doesn't cause regret hours later and leads to a mad scramble for antacids?
the problem with the mcburrito (apart from the fact there is no good way to photograph a wafer thin pulverized meat disc, even in a tortilla) is that the drones who work at mcdonalds may be under strict orders to be incompetent. The whole reason a big mac is so popular is that there is enough dressing to hide the taste of the meat. In burrito form, all that cheese and dressing and lettuce dutifully shlumps to the bottom and all you are left with is a mouthful of doughy anemic tortilla and an uncensored version of the aforementioned pulverized meat disc, which has the consistency of a chef boyardee meatball. The bun at least mandates proper construction, but as far as foisting this upon the unsuspecting masses? They could have done better if they had caught the Atkins craze. Alas, Atkins is now but a distant memory of a glorious excuse to eat more bacon, and hopefully the Mac Snack Wrap will go the way of Atkins and the McPizza.

You missed out. It tasted better than most of the usual cheap pizza joints, but was lower in price. It also mandated a redesign of the drive-thru windows. :)
Unlike the Hot-N-Ready's from Little Ceasar's, these weren't sitting around getting cardboardy for an hour. They were made on the spot for you.

I had one in NYC back in June - it isn't too bad, but the tortilla is rather bland. If they had managed to flavor the tortilla a little better, it would have been pretty decent.

If it really is $1.49 for a half a burger, and a thin slice of pita bread, it is a ripoff. I could understand if it is like 50 cents.
This is McDonald's way of charging nearly twice as much for half a hamburger.

Damn I loved this thing (I'm from Canada) but as of last month they are no longer offering it here...so I guess it was a flop?
If McDonald is going to name something a \"Big Mac _____\", it better have two all-beef patties and special sauce. I see 1/2 of a beef patty here, or 1/4 the requisite beefiness for \"Big Mac\" status.
This reminds me of the \"All American\" Taco that Rubios rolled out a while ago, which is basically a weirdo taco with the innards of a burger, and half a beef patty like this.
It's also reminiscent of the Wendy's fried chicken wrap, which is half a fried chicken patty in a wrap-like concoction.
Apparently serving half a meat patty in a tortilla is just the \"in\" thing to do in fast-food land.
Saw it on the menu for the first time, when I went for a Southwest Chicken Sandwich Combo last weekend. It just barely makes the \"only if I'm desperate\" list. Aside from that, I think I'll pass. There's just something unholy about reinventing the hamburger in this way.
That looks fucking nasty. Any wrap/burrito McDonald's makes is nasty as hell. McSkillet, only took a bite and threw the rest of it away. Stick burgers McDOnalds and stop thinking outside the bun.

My guess based on scale is that that's 1/2 of a 4:1 (quarter pound) meat patty, so, an eighth of a pound.
The regular meats are 1/10 pound. So, yeah, you're getting less meat than in a big-mac, but by less than half -- not the numbers you get if you think that's half a 10:1 patty.

We had a friend from the U.K. visiting us who would tell anyone who would listen that she couldn't eat X, Y or Z because she was vegetarian... and then request a trip to McDonald's for a fillet o' fish sandwich. We were in the middle of Manhattan, and she flat out refused to eat anything but a McD's fish sandwich. I will be forever haunted by her cries of, \"I want a fish sandwich from McDonald's!\"
Never mind that technically, eating fish makes her a pescetarian (assuming that there's actually fish in those sandwiches at all, which is probably being entirely too generous).

I think it could work. I'm pretty healthy, and still I indulge in a Big Mac every few months or so. Taking out the middle bun, cutting the amount of meat in half, and using what appears to be real cheese instead of process cheese makes the thing probably much healthier (although not healthy, I don't delude myself)
Seriously though, they better get the price right. A McDouble/Double Cheeseburger or whatever they call it now days is only $1, so that pretty much makes $1 the limit for this.

Unfortunately, living in Vancouver and seeing those Snack Wraps signs everywhere, I had to try it. I would say this was about late March. And I have not tried it since, nor do I ever plan to. Curiosity got to the better of me and the McD's ad campaign was really compelling. According to an ad spot, I too could be an executive grabbing a snack between important meetings. Oddly enough, Canadian TV (at least in Western Canada) stopped running the ads, stopped displaying the proud signs and I think you have to ask for it if you want them to make a snack wrap now; not certain it is on the menu.
Well, McDonald's is obviously racist. They think they can just wrap any old thing in a tortilla and suddenly they have the Hispanic demographic eating out of their hands.

Is there any fast-food joint out there at which the pretty picture on the menu bears any resemblance to the smashed, mush-in-a-wrapper one is actually served? I've gone as far as calling for the manager, showing him/her the pile of crud in the wrapper, pointing to the pretty picture and asking politely to have one of those. Sometimes they try to comply and I get something a little less revolting; but most of the time, I get a shrug of the shoulders and an indifferent, \"sorry, that's what we serve,\" in reply.
Best thing I ever did was make it a policy that the wheels of my car will never touch the parking lot of any fast-food joint... ever!

I've started making tacos at home with Boca burgers and they are surprisingly good. Just fry 'em up in some olive oil and seasoning (I use Spike or Montreal Steak seasoning) and top with cheese and Ro-Tel.
I'm an omnivore, but I prefer the Boca burgers to ground beef because there's no gut-ache later.

If someone holds a gun to your head and makes you choose between this and the filet-o-fish, what would you choose? I'd definitely choose this.

The Filet O' Fish is probably my favorite fast food product of all time. I often go to McD's for nothing but a Filet and a Coke (McDonalds has the best Coke anywhere for some reason). The Filet is also one of the few fast food products completely unchanged since my childhood.

I remember I tried one once because I was so hungry, and it was all there was to eat. I gagged after the first bite, and waited an extra 5-6 hours to eat something more palatable.
