@doctor_cos: Yeah, thanks for that. The old folks are much dearer to me when they're 1000 miles away and don't have the opportunity to meddle or work my nerves. And they enjoy living in a town comprised of 99.8% old folks!

The flyer does not say City employees or water department, and news release sayd the people MAY be representing themselves as employees.


Let me guess, Edgewater is a community of retirees easily confused by scum sucking shysters?

@StanTheManDean: IIRC, Edgewater isn't one of the best funded communities in this area. It isn't all retirees, but it isn't resort living area either.

We had one of these hanging on the door of our house in Houston about 6 months ago, except it had the worded a bit differently, like \"due to the water quality in this area, we will be installing free whole-house water treatment systems\".


I knew there had to be a catch, so I called them, and they went through their speil, and at the end I asked a few questions.. Turns out that they were indeed installing the systems for free, but there was a \"monthly maintenance charge\" (which the rep refused to tell me what it was without someone coming out and actually looking at our house, basically another way of pushing a hard sell to those people that have trouble saying \"No\").. I told 'em to go pound sand, of course. :)
