DD says they haven't found any contamination in any of their products but wanted to be safe. We're glad to see a company being proactive about food safety and we're glad to see testing uncover contamination before any illnesses were reported, but still, pathogens in cookie dough and hot chocolate is just mean.

@SeniorPonzologist_GitEmSteveDave: Seems lately the quality of coffee at many places ... Starbucks, DD, even independent shops and restaurants ... has been going down. It's a widespread phenomenon. I can only assume it's cost; they're using less coffee, which not only makes it weaker-tasting, it means more water runs through less grounds, which draws in more bitterness.

The only exception is McDonalds. A year or so ago their coffee improved drastically, and so far, has stayed that way. I expect that to change any day now. It has to. Everyone else has let their coffee go to crap, McD's can't be far behind.

I used to go into places like DD for coffee all the time. Not any more. I'm making my own much more than before.
