I think it was pretty obvious AIG would "win" - everyone has been eager to express feigned populist outrage and hysteria at them. Its fun to hate on AIG, it makes you popular and gives you that "rage against the machine" illusion that all your friends like.

Like AIG (or then-defunct Countrywide) is going to learn anything from this prize. Comcast, as a viable, going concern would have gotten my vote.

Well, there you go. In my own little world i envision AIG employees honestly believing that everything was going to turn out OK - the implication being that they're not evil, just stupid. eBay/PayPal, on the other hand, I can't give any benefit of any doubts to - evil.

How is TicketMaster not the worst company in America? They're organized to screw the consumer, while AIG is just going through tough times from some recent poor business decisions.

Ticketmaster is in my opinion one of the worst companies in the world.

Since #1 in the contest gets a golden #2, I think the prize for #2 should be something urine-themed.

Also I like the idea of runner-up categories. Maybe concurrent voting for several categories would cut down on these 16-finalist matchups that seemed to go on forever.

Meh. AIG and other financial institutions are likely not guilty of anything other than incompetance and mass hysteria.

Comcast would enjoy a prominent place, like a baseball player who had a tremendous career but never won MVP due to others having singularly freakishly good seasons while he performed at a consistently great level.

I've enjoyed all the Comcrap stories...mostly because I don't have them. And I thank my lucky stars every day!

This year was special because of the economic meltdown. But Comcast is a regular suck-fest every year.
