@supercereal: I can't recall the last time I had to kill 2 hours between taking a shower and getting dressed.
And, maybe someone could explain the scenario of wearing a towel, not a robe, to get the paper. (Not that I would do either one.)

My baby has a wearable towel with a frog hood.
I think that is the maximum age for wearable towels. If the frog hood makes you look stupid instead of incredibly adorable, you are outside the age range for this product type.

For the record, I'm afraid that having a baby will be the scariest thing in my life. But the after part sounds like something I'd be up for.
Also, a frog-hoodie towel-wrap thing sounds adorable.
@ajlei: Baby was upsidedown (or rather, head-side-up), so he had to come by C-section and they did it at 39 weeks in the hopes it wouldn't turn into an emergency C-section by me going into labor first. So, yeah, 1 week before due date.
(And I'm not very brave, and the \"having\" part wasn't so bad. I mean, no picnic, but not nearly as terrifying as I anticipated. Then I remembered, people do this a second time ON PURPOSE (and a third and a fourth and a sixteenth if you're a Duggar ...) so it can't be THAT bad!)

@Eyebrows McGee (now with more baby!): My boyfriend has a Darth Vader hooded towel. It is incredibly too small for him and he had to tear it a little bit to fit it over his head, but I think it is hilarious and adorable... but I guess if I didn't know him I wouldn't see it in the same light.

Just as I had a robe as an answer to the Snuggie, I also have a terry robe as an answer for the Wearable Towel...
Mind you, I can't wrap a towel around me...I don't have a large enough towel. But I'm pretty sure this would just look stupid on me...and about everyone except for the Adonis wearing it toga style. (And he's only pulling it off because he's fit. Now imagine overweight speedo man, or grandma in one of those things.)
...So, how much do we have to donate to Consumerist to get THIS tested?

@Mxx: I don't see why. The commercial proclaims that it's \"first class in quality.\" That's good enough for me.
I actually had a terry cloth shirt when I used to paddle every day. It was perfect, light enough to wear when its hot out on my way to the beach, and warm enough to throw on after paddling for 2-3 hours at practice and head home. I also know several girls who wear similar shirts over their bathing suits so they dont walk around in a bikini.

Seriously, while this thing might (MIGHT!) have some convenience factor, the whole \"towels are too complicated\" marketing pitch doesn't really fly.

While I certainly won't line up to get one, I have to admit, it's really quite a clever idea. I like it, just not enough to get me to spend $20 + S&H without knowing the thread count and quality (hey, is it a sin to like really, really, good premium towels?).

A terrycloth bathrobe would work just as well and be a little less Greek-retro.

I find the tunic-style ingenous. But the toga style is really absurd.
So what we have is a towel with 3 slits in the side for 20 bucks.
This actually reminds me of the Topsy Tail ( [www.asseenontv.com] )
In case you haven't heard of it, it was basically a $20 bent coathanger with a page of instructions on how to use it to flip your long hair into various unattractive hairstyles.

@calchip: Somehow.. way back then, my mom aquired one of those things.. and man.. let me tell you.. IT HURT.. Oh my goodness.. Especially with a mom that is working with waist length hair and trying to rush out the door to get to work/school on time.. Holy moly.
My scalp still has fears of the topsy tail.

The best part is that each hair style is just a slightly different version of a pony tail.

It's not a bad idea. Still better than the snuggie. Plus, you can drape this over your clothes and not worry about your baby drooling all over you.
As a newly married man, I'm convinced that my grandmother in law has two of these on express order right to my doorstep, as her side of the family can't stop giving us useless crap.

It could be a good idea for people who have roommates, my curves don't always stay wrapped in a regular towel, and I had an unfortunate incident while holding the dog back from mormon missionairies in a bathrobe. as I result I no longer answer the door in my robe and live with the husband, not towel or robe required

the thread count is 550 we picked that becuse our R&D showed us that when we went over that level, the towel got hard after a couple washes but at 550 after we washed it over ten times it was still soft, the wearable towel has the same quality as a towel you would buy in BB&B for 40 buck, we don't want you're money, we just dont want you taking up so much bathroom time..lol

Towels already are wearable. I wear one around my waist every morning after I shower. My wife wears one around her body and one on her head after a shower.
Also bathrobes are this but they look like they were designed for this millenium.
