Judge John F. Grady of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois issued a temporary restraining order against Voice Touch, as well as a business partner, Network Foundations, from making further calls. He also issued a separate temporary restraining order against Transcontinental.
Also named in the restraining orders are Christopher D. Cowart, the owner of Transcontinental; James and Maureen Dunne, the owners of Voice Touch; and Damian Kohlfeld, an owner of Network Foundations.
In freezing the companies' assets, the court also appointed receivers over Transcontinental and Network Foundations to ensure that documents are preserved and assets are not dissipated. The restraining orders are in effect until a preliminary injunction hearing set for May 29.
Really, restraining orders? Injunction hearings? C'mon, judiciary! FTC Chairman Jon Leibowitz called this "one of the most aggressive" telemarketing schemes ever. They're witches, plain and simple. Burn them!

Because a court order can result in jail time if they violate it. IE you're staying in jail until the calls stop.
Also, with a court order seizing their assets, they can't get to their money(the banks lock them out of their own accounts), it becomes difficult to pay the phone company for their lines, rent the robocallers, pay the employees to operate the systems, etc...

I managed to get their number which cross referenced to a dump in Queens, NY along with craigslist ads for boiler room work. I then reported the info on all of the "who called me" type websites. But why stop with this outfit ? I get these type of calls from many, many companies who use the same practices of hiding the caller ID's and call 5 times a day.

And there are probably legitimate, albeit annoying and slimey, that bought their call lists and got numbers that they shouldn't have. It's their responsibility to make sure they aren't calling people they shouldn't be, but they aren't all just out to break the law.

]]>Perhaps now they can go after the folks who offer to lower your credit card interest and the carpet cleaning company. The latter has called me weekly since early December. They are on their third caller ID phone number. I report them every time to the State AG office and the National Do Not Call folks. No legitimate company violates the do not call list. All of these people are crooks.
