Hmm... I think perhaps people "piss on" Wal-Mart because they've looked behind the magic curtain and seen how the Wizard of Low Prices makes his magic. Which is to say, by being absolutely and soullessly ruthless with everyone from the workers in foreign countries that make the products to his suppliers & distributors to local towns and small businesses near where he opens his stores to the workers in his stores.

The company is a long, long way away from the family-oriented place it was under Walton. Now, their MO is pretty much "screw the family, anything to save a few cents!"

Why do people piss on Walmart so much! They sale products, for the most part, at the lowest price--a good deal for their consumers. Maybe it's that they are a very successful company and the socialist/communist that infest this blog, cannot stand the fact that a non-unionized company is so successful.
Look at GM and Chrysler as a model of successful unionized corporate partnership--their going down in flames! Sure, the neo-coms will blame it on corporate mngt of both companies; however, the unions play a major factor in their downfall.

And why is Circuit City even listed in the brackets? They were done at the start of the year!

Did someone throw fruit at you during an AIG executive retreat? AIG made exceptionally risky underwriting decisions to make tremendous short term profits causing a snowball effect with banks issuing sub-prime mortgages. This is all well documented. AIG lost more money in a quarter than we spent on the Iraq war in 2003 because of these ridiculously bad decisions.

Name a company that has lost more. Up until this point the largest corporate scandal was when MCI lost $11 billion. This trumps Madoffs $50 billion.

On second thought, despite that landslide of evidence of AIG's responsibility in the matter, you must be right, it's the liberal media that's to blame.

Hilarious idea... My Calls for the Final Four:

AIG vs. Citi

AIG is probably the easiest pick for a winner.

Citi should have very little trouble spanking TicketMaster... Ticketmaster, afterall, provides a lot of joy for their consumers in the end. I would imagine just about anyone involved with Citi has very little joy... ask Chrysler.

Comcast vs. BoA

On the Comcast/BoA side you've got a lot more parity. Comcast is battling the failing GM, but Comcast's service sucks so bad it is even worse than a failing car company. If they didn't monopolize their market, they'd be gone, too.

As for BoA winning over Chrysler.. After April 30th Chrysler will no longer be a company, so you can't very well keep them in the hunt. how could a non-company even compete in the final four of 'Worst Company in America"?

Wal-Mart is a well run business operating on narrow profit margins. Efficiency and good management make them profitable. They employ over 1.3 million people who go to work every day voluntarily and with pride. Parasitic unions that want a cut of Wal-Marts business without adding anything are the primary detractors. If you buy into Union diatribe instead of doing your own homework - SHAME ON YOU! AIG was not well mangaged and took advantage of their customers. I vote for AIG.

True, you probably couldn't support a family of 3 on that wage, but maybe you should rethink your career if you're supporting 2 other people on the same job I had when I was in 10th grade.

AIG got my vote for their scammistic synthetic coal tax credit scheme alone (which was created by the nimrod who would eventually tank the company due to credit defaults swaps etc.) Entirely legal but very immoral. AIG bought unused "synthetic coal" processing facilities and then leased them out only to harvest tax credits to reduce their tax obligations.

And "synthetic" coal is usually pretty scammy to start with in the order of spraying fuel oil over regular coal to "convert" it to "synthetic" coal...

Let's be clear about AIG's wrongdoing: They collected billions in fees for selling trillions, yes trillions, of dollars worth of credit default swaps they had little ability to make good on. That's why government bailout money is leaking through AIG like a sieve. They are a bottomless pit of liability. AIG isn't keeping that money; it's going right back out the door to pay counterparty claims. Think of AIG as a casino that gladly took your wagers but couldn't pay if you hit the jackpot.

True story that happened to my ex's cousin- the most lily white, doesn't crosswalk or cut the matress tag off type of woman. She though she would be arrested trying to return the scammed box and she couldn't understand how someone could make money off selling a new sewing machine not in its box. I had to explain fencing, flea markets, and drug addicts to her... (this was before ebay then craigslist became the fencing valhala.)

Wow, I hope Wal-Mart takes this one. They just canceled my Wal-Mart credit card because I had lost it, and someone did some bogus transactions on it. They refuse to re-open a new account. They have just completely closed it. Granted $600 credit limit wasn't a lot, but it was still mine. Oh Well, Back to Target and their $3000.00
