@mechfluff: As much as people complain about that scene, it really isnt all that decieving. The shamwow, as hilarious as the commercials are, are a good product and I have used them, and seen live demos where they do the soda on the rug thing.

All infomercials seem scammy, but the products aren't necessarily terrible. They're never \"like magic,\" but the Shammie has been around for decades.
There used to be some german-made industrial-strength cleaning paste they sold via infomercial. I can't remember the name, but that stuff was absolutely AMAZING on everything. The trick, of course, was that you have to use a good bit more than what they claimed, making the product a bit more expensive. Still beat out most cleaning stuff on price/performance.

For the most part it is basically the same commercial. A lot of the cuts he just voiced over it as you will notice what he is actually saying and how his mouth is moving are out of sync with each other.

@ludwigk: The spanish seem to borrow many culinary words from the french. Technically, \"champiñón\" is a certain type of mushroom, while \"hongo\" is the spanish word for mushroom, but I've heard them used interchangeably.
I've also heard \"petit-pois\" for peas, instead of \"guisantes,\" which is the real term. Go figure.
Either way, though, these videos were painful to watch, the spanish is so awful.

@Airjoe: He does say some thing about his \"juevo\" at one point, which does mean egg but also in spanish juevos refers to one's nuts. Which I guess is about as scandalous as nuts?

I'm just saying that from the accounts I heard, the fight started while they were driving, and she started hitting Chris while they were driving, which is when she was pushed against the door to stop her. I will admit in the photos I saw, I didn't see teeth marks on her forehead, only bruises. I also couldn't find any reports about teeth marks on her head. All I was saying is that sometimes two people tango, like in the Vince case.

1.29 on the Slap Chop was the best bit, for anyone that's heard the english version of course.
Also, there's a nagging voice in the back of my head telling me that's all craftily dubbed over the top of the english version to make it look like he's speaking spanish.
you know what? I kinda admire the fact he actually is speaking the spanish himself. Yeah, it's a paying job and of course he won't say no to more work.

That's not his voice. It's definitely a voice over by a real spanish speaking person. They recorded new scenes where he was talking, so they could have him lip synch to the vocals, but not only does it not sound like him, the lip synch is off in places, and his pronunciation is too good.
@slickdealer: Yeah, it's certainly him, the Babelfish-quality translation kind of gives it away. The voiceovers for the ordering information are definitely someone else, though.
But otherwise, this is cien por ciento Vince.

Don't the makers of these products just get it? Can't stand the guy and his annoying voice. He'll be the last person I'll buy anything from.
Any chance of getting these re-dubbed back to English? I mean a literal translation, as in feeding the Spanish script into Google Translate, then get a non-native English speaker (middle-eastern preferred, love haggling with them in the small NYC/London electronics shops)?
