It seems that this is only for the CR (controlled release) version of Paxil. I could be wrong but the wording is pretty clear:
The Consumer Class consists of all natural persons in the United States and its territories who purchased or paid for (in whole or in part) Paxil CR® between April 1, 2002 and March 4, 2005.The CR makes a big difference, since only a small portion of paxil prescribed during this time was of the CR form. You might want to update the title of the post.
I wish I could get a settlement for putting on 30 lbs in 6 months while taking Paxil... DAMN.

@ElizabethD: Remeron (mirtazipine) adds the poundage a good two months quicker *easily* :( Paxil did give me cotton mouth though...

@Gadgetgirl: I gained 40, so I feel your pain.
I also went insanely bipolar. After talking to several people, I found I was by far not the only one on who Paxil acted as crazy juice. My friend's mom was on paxil when she thought the Easter Bunny had come to kill her (it was a guy delivering flowers).
Funny now, scary at the time.

Thanks for posting the link! If you were taking Paxil CR from April 1, 2002 and March 4, 2005 and received some broken tablets I'd HIGHLY recommend getting the note from your Doctor stating you were on it then. That way you can get the full $150 instead of only $50 without proof. I'd think that's worth the 15 minutes of effort, right?

someone please tell me why a broken (or did they mean powdered?) tablet would mean that they owe you money?
I haven't read the details of this lawsuit but a lot of CR (controlled release) or XR (extended release) medications work because there are tiny holes in the capsule that allow the medication to escape at a predetermined speed. That way, you get the same amount of benefit over several hours rather than a surge of benefit when you first take the pill and then nothing until you take the next pill. If the capsule is cracked, the medication gets released much faster, which negates the whole point of getting the controlled release version.

@djmichaelangelo: See, and here I thought finding broken pills was another treatment effect against depression by showing me Buddhist principles apply even in western medicine.
