I like these types of videos, but folks need to start using better sound equipment if they want people to hear what they're saying (especially over random guitar riffs).

I would have liked to have seen an analysis of the absorptive power of these versus sponges and towels; I believe they would vastly exceed a sponge in this area. Also, as previously posted, I would have liked an extended wear test.

I have two of these that I have had in active duty for 12 years and though they are certainly worn, they still work great for my purposes.

I liked the snarkiness as it added some spice but overall the review was quite shallow.

I received a ShamWOW for a gift and it is about the worst rag I've ever used. An old t-shirt is vastly superior.

Damn the reply is not working again. Wait where is is the bad part Mad Dog Mcree and Shortbus? Where is the diluting of essential Consumer Reports values? Are they taking money for endorsement? No. Are they using sloppy science? No. Are they even charging you to watch this? No. Where in the Consumer Reports mentality is it verboten to be humorous about their findings? Do you miss the back page of the magazine every month where they poke fun at bad products? They do so in a humorous manner as well. I's agree with Trai but even my father found it funny.

What I find amusing is the consumer shrink ray got to the amount of water/soda it holds...

If they begin to focus more on selling their style over their expertise, it's a major warning sign that things are headed downhill. Call me old fashioned, but I like my facts to be boring. Adding personality to the review, by definition, adds bias.

@JakeChance84: What?! the shot doesn't change. Vince even says "we're gonna do this in real time". So even though it's got about 10 cuts in there, I gotta take Vince's word for it... he's a trustworthy guy...

@ShortBus: Please lighten up. This is clearly a product that does not take itself very seriously. I'm a subscriber as well and as much as the reports are useful in my buying decisions, I'm not opposed to humor with my science. The report did show that only one of shamwow's claims did in fact hold water, what was the better buy, and did it in an enjoyable easy to understand way. I'd understand if they made their riding mower section into a youtube variety show but that is all the attention the shamwow required.

The one thing I notice is that you can see a small puddle expand under the square of carpet when he pours the liquid but when the shot changes, there's no long any liquid coming from under the carpet.

I want to know if it is actually good at picking up an asstastic amount of spilled liquid. I'd prefer to use one of these instead of a whole roll of paper towels. Then I can use 1 to get the droplets that are left behind.

Also - those are the cheapest sponges around, who even uses them they are worthless.

Ha! my mom bought me some shamwows for christmas as a gag gift. and yeah, they don't work any better than my raggity old towels and cheap paper towels. So now i'll be saying "Wow, I can't believe you spent $28 on this!" (actually she spent $15...they were on sale.) but now i know.

Great video, lousy CR report. I hope they haven't lowered their report standards since my subscription lapsed, it has been a couple three years.
