It is a piece of crap for any really work, but for that quick around the house stuff it can't be beat. And at $20 for a set that includes the drill, a few bits and a flashlight how can you go wrong.</p><p>For any real work, I'm with you on a corded drill being by far the best bang for the buck. I'm almost never working on a project that can't be reached by a cheap 100' extension cord. On the other hand, those new LiOn cordless torque drivers are getting awesome. The demo unit we tried out would on a single charge would put over 100 3\" wood screws into treated 4x4 on a single charge, all in a drill about the size of my palm.
