The result is Fatburgr, where you can quickly look up info by restaurant or food type.

You can get this info yourself from many corporate websites, but we like that it's all in one place. We especially like that there's an iPhone version of the site to make it easy to look up info when you're actually at a restaurant. Most iPhone formatted sites have worked just fine on my past 3 Nokia phones, so give it a try even if you don't have an iPhone. (You can test drive the iPhone version below.)

So far there's info on these 20 restaurants, but Riley says he's trying to add one per day.

Arby's

Burger King

Carl's Jr.

Chick-fil-A

Chili's

Church's Chicken

In-N-Out Burger

Jack In The Box

Jimmy John's

KFC

Krispy Kreme

Long John Silver's

McDonald's

Pei Wei

Popeyes

Schlotzsky's

Sonic

Subway

Wendy's

Whataburger

When I went to Vegas a couple of months ago, I was determined to eat at In-N-Out. Walked about halfway to the closest one before deciding I'd better get a cab rather than disprove the notion that cars make people go squish, and the cabbie said that every time he picks up someone from California (I'm, erm, not) the first place they always want to go is In-N-Out.

I could see why, but I've had better. At Five Guys. In-N-Out's really good McDonald's-style food (but made with much better ingredients and such, I just mean McDonald's in reference to toppings and the cut of the fries) but Five Guys mops the floor with In-N-Out. Same concept (small menu, done as well as possible) but different execution. You're not getting a bacon cheeseburger with sauteed onions, mushrooms, and A-1 sauce at In-N-Out (although said burger comes with a side of coronary disease) and their fries are much better (steak fries, skin on, and any cubic nanometer of free space in the bag gets displaced with MORE FRIES). In-N-Out's really good, but only #3 as far as burger places go.

Fatburger's #2 (although sadly, I didn't get to go at two in the morning).

I have to say my first In-N-Out burger was a bit underwhelming. And so was the second. I don't understand the hype. They're good but not that much better than the rest of the fast food chains. Living in NYC, I have come to really appreciate restaurants having to put all the calories on the menus. I thought it was a bit heavy handed by government but it's extremely useful. When I'm in the mood for that Mocha and Muffin from Starbuck's, seeing that the two together are 1200 calories, helps my decision to get the skinny latte and almonds a little easier to make. But it still sucks!!!!

Are these places any worse than, say, the Olive Garden or other chain restaurants which seemingly offer more wholesome food?

Even places like Subway which advertise food on the health side have some waistbusters.

It's great that this site adds the weight watcher points. That makes for a simple cross reference which is credible.
