@Courteous_Gentleman: Even I, the official consumerist right wing nut job, does not think Obama is a terrorist. But I think some people think that because of his associations with Ayers, and some people still remember that photo of him in kenya or whatever, with the \"terroristque\" clothes on.

But the media/liberal side of the country does act as if he is a savior. And that not really Obamas fault. I'm sure he doesn't mind, because it will help him get elected. But the fact that a lot of people worship him and \"look the other way\" when negative things about him are found, is a bit scary, but out of his control.

His association with Ayers goes deeper then what most people know. They have worked together on a few projects, none of which were coincidence. It's an association. That's it. Nothing more, nothing less. Doesn't mean Obama is a terrorist, but you can't totally count it out. I have never heard of a candidate for president have any _association_ _at_ _all_ with a terrorist. But my tin foil hat is not on. I don't think there is any plots in the mix with Ayers. But Obama was very radical before running for president.

Did you see his radio interview from 2001 that came out yesterday? He pretty much despises the constitution for not saying anything about wealth redistribution. Scary guy.

@Bladefist: I'm sorry to butt in all anonymously, but that is not what that interview says. He was using the term \"redistribution\" in a specific, legal sense referring to the distribution of goods such as health care and education, not the more generalized form of \"wealth\" redistribution. Also, he was in fact taking the more conservative view of the issue -- he DOESN'T think the courts should be the one to solve the issue. So, um, wrong. There are issues with Obama, but that is not one of them.

If you google for the \"Obama Kenya\" photos, you'll see that he was wearing a red polo shirt, and khaki slacks underneath the local garb.

The other photos taken that day with him wearing his American clothes were not shown, and the one with him in the local garb was cropped so you could not see his khaki jeans at the bottom.

The real sad thing is, is calling clothes from the entire continent of Africa \"terrorist\" clothes.

Even some of the most cynical people I know seem to unconditionally support him and think he can do no wrong. I don't even want to think about the number of people I've seen here in Chicago wearing shirts with \"OBAMA\" or his portrait in glitter, sequins, rhinestones, and who knows what else.

In the end, he's a human being and a politician, and how he might perform as the president is still an unknown at this point. For all we know, he could turn into The Smiler once he's in office.

I don't think he's a messiah, that's a Republican straw man argument. I think he has a vision, a good plan, and the will power to see it through to completion. That's it in a nutshell.

He also strikes me as being genuinely concerned about everyday Americans. Whereas with McCain it appeared to be an afterthought when Obama was rising in the polls.

We went into the new millenium with a leader who did not have a vision or a plan for where we were going to be in 4-8 years. And what did we get for it? China and India nearly closed the gap with us. You can never rest, *especially* when you're on top.

Chanting \"Go Go USA\" is not the same thing as having goals and objectives.

Republicans hate their own politicians (regardless that they will fight tooth and nail to get them elected), they loathe their politicians.

Therefore they conclude if Democrat's actually like their guy he must be \"divine.\"

I can understand your confusion. But the answer is, we don't loathe our candidates. That's why there is this big misunderstanding.

Also, McCain invented \"Joe the plumber\", the guy was not born with that name. He was just some guy who had a brief and polite discussion with Obama. Then McCain made a martyr out of this guys life for the purpose of the third debate. He used him as the centerpiece for his campaign, and then, then he actually blamed Obama for reporters showing up at his house.

The Republican disconnect from logic and consequences of actions simply fascinates me.

He's not just some guy asking a question, he's a plank in the McCain platform, or, at the very least, a recurring figure in his stump speech. Each candidate is well within his rights to inspect and criticize the other's statements.

Speaking of fair, I though Obama's response to JTP was pretty fair, and thorough, whether you agree with his tax proposal or not. People are making it sound like Obama was publicly humiliated by the question, but he seemed pretty cool about it at the time. And their conversation, that would have been the end of it, had McCain not vaulted him to fame and embraced him as part of his message.

The implication of Obama's proposal for small business is a serious issue, worth looking at, and personally I'm not sure it's prudent. However, making a liar a pillar of your campaign is irresponsible and shouldn't be allowed to let pass no matter WHAT party you belong to. Making a liar the posterboy for this issue also clouds it, obfuscating any real, honest scrutiny.

@ArgusRun: This is a route you dont want to take. Sure, there are a couple of news stations around the nation that are right wing. But I think everyone knows the majority of the media is in the tank for Obama. A lot of them have officially endorsed him. To argue against that is crazy.

Let's not mix up the editorial page with the news section. Yes, Obama leads in newspaper endorsements, but that doesn't mean the reporters support that position. Journalists lean left in the same way that stockbrokers lean right -- it's the nature of the work and the people it attracts. But a majority of reporters will never go on the record about their voting choice and many refuse to vote just to help them remain as neutral as they can be.

But when you can look at a single reporter and compare her interviews with two different candidates, any form of bias is easier to determine. In the Biden case, he performed admirably in an interview that seemed one question short of \"When did you stop beating your wife.\"

For the McCain camp or its supporters to complain about his reaction is ridiculous. Biden has given dozens of interviews to small town and national news sources. Palin has given a handful and has started limiting them to avowed Republican leaning venues. And all she does is complain about the rest of the Liberal, gotcha-question asking media. What's good for the goose and all that.

If you get to attack the liberal media for asking what newspapers she reads, or what supreme court cases she disagrees with, then we can say whatever we want about a reporter who asks a major party VP candidate is he is a Marxist and has a socialist agenda.

On a bit off topic note, I'm really curious why people seem to be so scared of electing a Muslim for president in theory.

Are they not human beings? Are most of them not good family men and women, just like anyone else? Don't we have Christian terrorists, along with whole different bunch of ideologies that those bastards believe in too?
