I've only traveled a few times via plane, but am planning to go Italy sometime, let's just hope I don't get more than I bargained for. They need come up with a solution, incase something is put inside a bag again, such as weighing before, and after a flight, to make sure nothing left or entered that bag.

It's got to be tough for the airlines to make sure they hire honest staff. Background checks are great but still, there are many criminals with clean records so it only helps to a certain level. They really need to get more cameras and figure out some sort of checks and balances system to make sure people are doing what they are supposed to (especially if they are in a position like these guys were in where they could protect contraband shipments from being detected.) While moving dangerous illegal drugs around is certainly bad, left unchecked a group of people in this position could potentially use the position for terror. Security has become very tight for civilians but I often wonder what policy's are in place for airport staff?

Could this explain why my bagchecked suntan lotion keeps getting confiscated when I fly to Hawai'i? On multiple occassions I've been paged by gate personnel...and when I show up to the gate they say, \"We've been informed by TSA that your suntan lotion has been confiscated\". When I've asked why, they usually just shrug and so we \"We don't know\".
This is very similar to what happened down here at Orlando International Airport. Although I think it may have been guns that those airport employees were smuggling through. Its nice to know that with all of our privacy and freedoms being taken away, a huge criminal underworld can still exist even in one of the most \"secure\" places in our country.
