This looks like a rip-off of Take Home Chef, which is itself a really bad show with a really hot host.

Great, so now I have to spend all my free time cruising the aisles of HD in the hopes that ADJ will rescue me. With my luck Ty Pennington will show up instead.

This is a total ripoff of \"Take Home Chef\" (which I actually enjoy), although both are TLC shows so that's not surprising.
I'm not so sure a show like this is going to be good for HD...it runs the risk of making would-be DIYers think twice about taking something on by themselves.

As the others said above, 'Take Home Chef' ripoff, however everytime I've seen AD-J on his regular fix-up shows, he's usually behind schedule and always appears overwhelmed. That's not exactly who I'd want coming up to me at a Home Depot for help.
And from Home Depot's perspective, I don't think this is a boon for them. Time was you'd be in a Home Depot and any representative would be friendly and helpful, no customer was ever left in a lurch. Now they're sponsoring a show putting forth the message \"we can't help you, try this guy.\"

Ok, time for one of those 'I know someone who knows someone' stories...
I know someone who knows a PA on 'While You Were Out (we cheaply decorated your home, please don't cry on camera)\" and she had nothing but horrible things to say about 'Dimples Dan'.
Incompetent, lazy and stupid were 3 words I remember and can repeat in mixed company.
I hope this is as good as 'Take Home Chef', and by that I mean completely unwatchable.

...unfortunately Dan-Jumbo (wtf name is that?) will also be unable to find what he needs at Home Depot and the staff will be of little help, and will most likely no even know what an \"L-bracket\" is.
Any returns will result in a 45min line wait to be greeted by an un-helpful cashier who doesn't have the authority in 'the system' to perform the task assigned to them.
Meanwhile, his shiny new product-placement truck gets backed into in the parking lot by someone who rented the \"Take me home fore 19.95\" (but really turns out to cost like $200) truck, and doesn't know how to back up a truck.
...and down the street there's an Ace franchise with a helpful crusty old dude behind that counter that could have done the whole job with his eyes closed for $100.
I'd much rather be helped by Eric Stromer. Adorable and never a prima donna.
Andrew Dan-Jumbo meets Home Depot customer's with a friendly smile. He doesn't take away from Home Depot's employee customer service; he adds to the service as an expert.
When he goes into the homes, he's surprised that more often than not, women are shopping for items to improve their homes. Where are the husbands? The husbands are very, very lazy and hard to press accountability for improving their own homes!
Andrew is creative and looks for areas that need the most improvement and creates help and drasticly improves, no matter how difficult the challange, the look and usefulness of the buyers' homes.
Andrew, maybe, the comments above are just insecure about your knowledge and sex appeal. I welcome it every time I tune in to your show.
