I'm amazed that I've never, ever had an order pulled incorrectly from amazon.com before...and I order something about once a week...

Good grief... gimme five minutes in there, that's all I ask...
I've seen this picture before- possibly on Gizmodo. People were pointing out the fact that its a week before Christmas and there's only two people picking orders.
That is one vast warehouse, and the guy on foot looks a bit incongruous. Wouldn't it go faster if the pickers' carts incorporated a motorized scooter-type attachment? Or maybe that would cause accidents in the aisles.

Still, this doesn't explain why two items ordered on the same day can be delivered at such vastly different times when they are both supposedly \"in stock. Ships in 24 hours.\"
Crayonshinobi, is this two different items shipped from the same warehouse? Amazon in North America ships from Arizona, Delaware, Kansas, Kentucky, Nevada, Washington, Pennsylvania and Texas. I'm near DC, and if I order books I usually get those from the Kentucky warehouse, and other stuff tends to come to me from Pennsylvania. (I never get anything from Delaware, so I wonder what they serve from there?)
By the way, is this just an (admittedly very large) area for easy access to the most popular items? It's hard to imagine they have this huge warehouse and don't use vertical space at all. Quite a contrast to the Newegg's warehouses.
Oops, I left Ontario out of my list of North American warehouses. Sorry, Canada!

Something my bosses obviously know nothing about since we had such a system but now the operations managers routinely gut. Morons.
