Definitely call your credit card company like RH says. CC companies have a lot more leverage on misbehaving companies than you do, if they back you up. (And they should).

Before you try recording a conversation (phone or face-to-face), check the laws in your state. In Massachusetts, it's illegal unless all parties consent.

Also, Empire is in NY State. Once she files a dispute claim with the credit card company they will likely credit her account within 2 days. It could take 90 days to resolve the dispute with Empire but I think the law is on Joanie's side.
