I called Circuit City. Their Director of Corporate Communications said:

It's kind of ironic that on a day when the blogosphere is beating up Businessweek for bad reporting, a reputable blog is also doing some bad reporting. Kudos to the folks setting BusinessWeek straight and kudos to Seth Finkelstein for setting Consumerist straight.

I work at a CC store, and I can tell you this is def not something we offer. That sign screams of something some random employee dreamed of.
I bought a hp pavillion notebook for my daughter to take over my business while I was surviving pancreatic cancer.She took it home and it did not work so she took it back for them to repair in the Greenville NC store.
Later because she was with me in a near death situation she could not get back in the 14 day replacement period. They again worked on So the sent it to city advanage for a repair and it came back worse.
They told my daughter to send it to hp who put in a new circuit board at our expense of time and shipping and handling. It worked for a few days and again it was inoperable. Back to circuit city the back to city advangage.
I told my daughter to not open the box but take it back to circuit city and their tech opened the box and it was worse than ever. I called the store mgt and could not get him so I talked to the computor mgt. His tech put box and all on his desk a week later we find out just how bad circuit city is with its warrenty and customer service. I know have a $1200 piece of ??????
Oh by the way hp was kind enough to trade in my computor and allow me $250 for a computer that had been in their shop but I go maybe a weeks work.
Will somebody out there please help me resolve this unbelievable mess. My ministry without walls waits on you.
