It looks at it from a \"human\" standpoint.</p><p>Meaning: If a person would act in the way corporations are acting, what would their diagnosis be?</p><p>The \"hook\" for this is that in the early 20th century Corporations won a court ruling in the US that MAKES them persons (from a legal standpoint), yet, unlike people, they cannot \"die\" in the dead kind of way.</p>        </div>	<div class=\"reply\">	 <div class=\"reply-button\"><a title=\"Reply\" href=\"javascript:void(0);\" onclick=\"mtReplyCommentOnClick(30378, 'Snowrunner')\">Reply</a></div>		<!-- if it's a top level category ' -->		    </div><!-- end reply- button -->    </div></div>        <!-- Display comment (top level parent) -->    </div>","<div class=\"comments-content\">        <div class=\"comment\" id=\"comment-31065\">    <div class=\"inner\">	 <div class=\"user-pic\">                <a href=\"\"><img src=\"/css/images/default.gif\"         width=\"60\" height=\"60\" alt=\"user-pic\" /></a>            </div>        <div class=\"comment-header\">            <div class=\"asset-meta\"> <div class=\"vcard author\">mrscolex    </div>				<div class=\"comment-date\"><a href=\"http://consumerist.com/2005/12/the-corporation-for-free-on-google-video.html#comment-31065\"><abbr class=\"published\" title=\"0000-00-00T00:00:00-05:00\">December  0, 0000 12:00 AM</abbr></a></div>				<div class=\"comment-moderate\"><span><a href=\"javascript:moderateComment(31065);\">Moderate</a> |</span><a href='javascript:void(0)' onClick=\"return moderate(this, 'http://consumerist.com/cgi-bin/mt/plugins/Moderate/moderate.cgi?__mode=flag&comment_id=31065');\">Flag for review</a></div>            </div>        </div><!-- end comment header -->        <div class=\"comment-content\">            <p>To follow up on the previous comment, I just caught the first hour of it. This is an interesting enough documentary, although quite a bit of it is what I would consider to be \"Opinion Pieces\". Some of the more interesting ones include the CEO of Royal Dutch Shell and a few other notables.</p><p>Bad marks for dubious editing and overuse of Michael Moore whom I kept wondering, \"Wtf does he have to do with corporations?\" Just becuase he's the goldenboy with F-911 doesn't mean that we have to start plastering him all over other documentaries...</p><p>I'll watch the other two parts later. It's not in The Corporation.</p><p>Also, The Corporation is no longer available on Google Video. We asked them to remove it. www.kelkoo.co.uk lists several retailers of the DVD in the UK.</p><p>In defense of Michael Moore's inclusion in The Corporation: he's been a thorn in the side of corporate America since he made Roger and Me in 1989; he continued with his groundbreaking series TV Nation and then The Awful Truth, mixing humour with anti-corporate critiques and packaging them for a mainstream television audience. The Big One and Bowling For Columbine continued to build theatrical audiences for feature documentaries that took on anti-corporate themes. I think his work is a fine example of one kind of media activism that has, in many instances, changed the behavior of big corporations. I recorded his interview long before 9/11 was released. So including him was certainly not in reaction to that film. Our films were released in the USA almost simultaneously. (Doh!)</p><p>For more info about the film, or to participate in deeper discussions about it and the issues it raises, check out www.thecorporation.com</p><p>Best,</p><p>Mark Achbar<br />Co-director, Producer, Executive Producer <br />The Corporation</p>        </div>	<div class=\"reply\">	 <div class=\"reply-button\"><a title=\"Reply\" href=\"javascript:void(0);\" onclick=\"mtReplyCommentOnClick(65398, 'Director')\">Reply</a></div>		<!-- if it's a top level category ' -->		    </div><!-- end reply- button -->    </div></div>        <!-- Display comment (top level parent) -->    </div>");
